Celebrate Game 7 With Our World Series Special: Save 50% on OOTP 15 and 80% on iOOTP 2014!

We love it when the World Series goes seven games. This will be just the fifth time that's happened in the last 20 years, so we'll be savoring the drama with you. Will the Royals hoist the trophy for the first time since 1985, or will the Giants emerge victorious for a third title in five years?

While you wait for the game to begin, how about seeing if you could guide your favorite team to the championship this year in OOTP 15 and iOOTP 2014? OOTP 15 is still just $19.99 (50% off!) as part of our World Series special, while iOOTP 2014 remains a mere 99 cents (80% off!). iOOTP's seasons are on sale too: The 10-season bundles are just $1.99 and the all-in-one bundle is $14.99.

Our World Series Game 7 Pick

You may recall that before the World Series started, we simmed it five times and said it could be too close to call, but we were giving the nod to the Royals. Four of those sims went the distance, so OOTP 15 was right on the mark when it said this would be a back-and-forth series.

We decided to do 10 sims of Game 7 with the projected starters and lineups and see how it might turn out tonight. The results were very interesting, and you can read all about them in our latest blog post.

OOTP 15 Maintenance Patch - Version 15.6.34 released

Some users experienced difficulties with our latest update (i.e. ballpark images missing when playing out games), so we released a maintenance patch for the game. Please see this forum post for download links and instructions how to update your copy.

The Mets: 150 Feet to the Outfield Fence and Their Playoff Dream

The New York Mets are one of those teams mired in some extended doldrums, and they've decided they're going to give the club a jolt next year by moving in the outfield fences a little bit. That prompted Sports Illustrated baseball editor Emma Span to joke in a tweet: "Queens, 2035: CitiField's dimensions are now 150 feet in all directions. Mets are out-homered, 1,215-1,049, and go 79-83."

And then we thought, "Well, what if a team lost their minds and actually moved in their fences to 150 feet?" Since OOTP lets you create just about any baseball world you want, we decided to give the Mets the stadium Span imagined, so Curtis Granderson could try to double the record for most home runs in a season. (Those of you about to email us regarding the rule that says fences can't be closer than 250 feet from home plate: Hush. Let us have our fun.)

With a little help from OOTP project manager (and FHM producer) Jeff Riddolls, along with the very useful Gambo's Stadium Chart for OOTP, we configured Citi Field's parameters and set the sim in motion. We actually ran it twice, once assuming the fence ran in a straight line and again with the idea that they would push the center field wall out a bit to a whopping 185 feet.

And wouldn't you know it, something crazy happened in the second sim. We'll let you read all about it on our blog.

That's it from us. Enjoy Game 7, and we'll see you next month!
